Breve, ma molto intenso.

Ho deciso qualche mese di ri-approcciarmi a tutti i libri di Crichton e sono partito proprio da qui: Andromeda. A esclusione di alcune parti un filo "troppo" (troppo tecniche e un filo troppo lente - ma comunque sempre nello spirito di Crichton) il romanzo è una bomba: parte in modo estremamente interessante e con un mistero che si districa in modo magistrale.

Il tutto con la solita competenza e il solito appiglio scientifico che contraddistingue i romanzi dell'autore.

Assolutamente da rileggere anche - specialmente - dopo che tutto il mondo è diventato il principale esperto in merito alle malattie infettive (post-covid).

Read this one a long time ago... in the 1980s I think, so can't really review now. I liked it. Good SF thriller, fast read. Would I like it today? How well has it aged? Couldn't tell you.

Invecchiato benissimo, come un buon vino

"Andromeda" non è un libro per tutti, visti molti risvolti tecnici (a cui siamo diventati abituati con la pandemia), ma è un thriller con i fiocchi. Ormai sono passati quasi vent'anni da quando ho letto gli altri libri di Crichton, ma questo non ha fatto altro che ricordarmi quanto l'autore sia bravo a far crescere la suspense da un capitolo all'altro.

Il finale l'ho trovato un pochino... diverso dal resto del testo, ma da pseudo-scrittore-in-erba l'ho trovata una soluzione piuttosto comoda.
