Didn't like this one as much as the earlier ones - just felt like the story wasn't really moving, and had some lengths. Wouldn't re-read as a standalone (but might do it if I ever read the whole series again).

Oh, this book is really sad.

I can't believe that for moments I liked Sebastian... it's like there's a good side of him that gives you the idea that he can be saved but then appears his true self -the psycho one- and any hope about him vanishes. I am not sure he can be saved from the evil he has on his very blood so he's probably lost in it.

I really liked the evolution of Simon and Izzy's relationship and the same with Malec. There are many beautiful moments but sad ones, too.

I know that Jocelyn only tries to protect her daughter but she reaches the annoyingly bothersome.

And, of course, I love clary's bravery and determination to save Jace. That's why Jace loves her, anyway. And Jace... well, there isn't much I can't say without saying any spoiler, but I love him.

I am behind on my book updates. But I did read this book pretty much immediately when it came out, and I enjoyed it more than the previous book in this series. However, I was behind on the "prequel" companion series and decided to read this right away instead of reading the most recent Infernal Devices book first. I suspect there were some tie-ins I didn't fully get.
