Utterly charming
The first book in this series was good, and the conclusion is even better. The characters are well-drawn, the action scenes are clear and exciting and the romance is sweet. The author is good at maintaining the suspense and avoids the over-foreshadowing that often makes it too easy to guess impending twists. I highly recommend it!

Exce.lent follow-up
"Northern Wrath" - the first book in this series - was a superb fantasy set in the old of Norse Mythology. "Shackled Fates" is a worthy follow-up. The books have a large cast, but Holdt keeps the story moving at a solid pace and gives each of the main characters their due.
