Been reading for a VERY long time. Science Fiction and Fantasy were my first loves; I do love a good Cozy Mystery now that I am older. Knitting, reading, and a cup of tea all sound grand.

Elizabeth Spann Craig: Pretty is as Pretty Dies (Paperback, 2016, Elizabeth Spann Craig)

Review of 'Pretty is as Pretty Dies' on 'Goodreads'

This book was not as good as some others by Ms. Craig. I did find the protagonist a little annoying, and definitely reminding me of Agatha Raisin, a fictional sleuth that I don't like. I'm willing to read a second one in this series to see if I like it better. If you also didn't like this one, I recommend the series she writes about the librarian.

Elizabeth Spann Craig: Checked Out (Paperback, 2019, Elizabeth Spann Craig)

Review of 'Checked Out' on 'Goodreads'

Seriously wow. Good job on a new series. I totally love our protagonist, Ann Beckett. The first scene in the book involves 2 cats stuck in a culvert, and Ann, one of the town's librarians, running out into the rain to save them. It really sets the scene for us. This is a woman who is real, who isn't worried about her appearance, and who really cares about other people. As the book goes on, we learn other things about her - some hurts and baggage from her past, and what her life is like as a single, mid-thirties reference librarian in a small town.

Review of 'Intermezzo - Household Matters' on 'Goodreads'

This was a lovely little story. The author is providing little novelettes that don't have mysteries in them, but advance the chronological story. I am enjoying them.

Sadly, the information at the back of this book asks me to join a social media site. I did so and then was given a bunch of Fox News garbage. So THAT lasted less than 10 minutes. I will probably sign up for her newsletter though. I am enjoying the series.

Newford and better than ever

It feels like a very long while since I read a new Newford book. This one is a total keeper.
