I enjoy science fiction works, and some detective stories. Mostly short stories, and mostly works that have entered into the public domain. Don't have a lot of time to read which I'm hoping will change in this new year.

Frederik Pohl: Double-Cross

"Double-Cross" by James Mac Creigh is a science fiction novella written during the early to …

Quick short read. It's kind of interesting, but at the same time doesn't feel like there is enough to be a full story. Still pretty good thou. And left with the question - Double-Cross (?)

"Tony and the Beetles" is a science fiction short story by American writer Philip K. …

I wasn't too sure about this story when I started it. But it turned out to be a pretty good story. And even thou I said I started reading this days ago. I really didn't sit down and read it until now. It's a fast read, lots of interesting ideas, and plots.
It reminded me a little (just a little) of Star Ship Troopers. Over all I'd give this a 3 out of 5, it's a good story that if you have 20 mins or so to read it - it is worth the read.

UFO & Outer Space (Gold Key)

Love these old comics, brings me back to when I was a kid. These made me think a lot about sci-fi when I was young. Nice to re-read it, fun memories. Oh and a good quick read.

@Z_Zed_Zed@universeodon.com I honestly don't remember this books, I remember reading the ones that were for Star Trek TAS. And honestly I was surprise by just how different this book was from what aired. It's kind of interesting to see what was cut and what was added. I think I'll spend more time re-watching TOS before reading more of these books. Like you I have stacks of books that I want to read, and a stack that I want to re-read.

James Blish: Star Trek 1 (Paperback, 1970, Bantam Books (Mm))

Adaptations of the screenplays from the early episodes of the original Star Trek television series.

Finally finished this up. The last story was probably the best. What aired is still better, but I really did enjoy "The Conscience of the King" more then most of the other stories in the book.
For what this book is it's fine. Unfortunately each story in the book is just different enough from what aired to just make it weird.
