This book is really dark. I've heard that Sharp Objects is darker which only makes me want to read it now. Anyway, this book is about a woman who has given up in life because life has been too damn rough on her. Understandable but very sad. Till one day she's desesperate for money -never worked in her life, too depressed to cope with it-, and a strange guy named Lyle invites her to talk about the murder of her family in which she's the sole survivor.

This book only gets better the more you read it, because you want to know more and since you also have the perspectives of Patty -her mother- and Ben -her brother- in the past, you really don't know what to think. And the more you read, the more fucked-up things get. And you can't believe how stupid and weak and just blind everyone is. It's infurating and frustrating and maddening at times. But that only makes it better.
The ending pleased me. I'm glad. Worth the reading.
