The novellas are fantastic, this was in those same vein but the novellas were written to string along and move through the story. This was written like a long novella, some things could have been condensed and others seemed like it’s just for the next novella...worth the read but hope she turns back to the shorts.

Bit torn here. I actually thought that the longer format of this first full-length Murderbot novel took a bit away from it. There were points that I actually found myself not very engaged with the story. And that even though All Systems Red had been my fave novella, and it shares stuff with it.

However, things really picked up in the last quarter for me, and that was good ol' Murderbot fun. The premise of the next novel I find very exciting, so I'll be reading more for sure.

If you enjoyed the four short stories about murder bot, this one takes all that world building and runs with it. Enjoyed it very much and looking forward to more.
