Sure, I maybe part of a minority that didn't enjoy this book, but nevertheless I did not.

I read a review after I was well into the book that described it this way: Starts off funny, then gets a bit tedious, and finally just annoying. The immediate sorry is actually intriguing, 100 year old man runs away, stumbles into excessive amounts of money, gets involved with an eclectic mix of characters, etc., etc. But that story is only about 1/3 of the book.

You are often taken away from that to learn about Allan's crazy life. His experiences with the authors caricatures of real people and world leaders... Only to see things drone on and on.

Then when the story actually ends, you've still got about 1/5 of the book left to hear about absolute nonsense.

I really expected more from something so highly talked about.
