Review of 'Not Alone' on 'Goodreads'

2 stars

This book really needed a better editor. There were entire chapters that had no overall bearing to anything else in the story...none...maybe just some "shock value". It probably would have fared better as 2 books. With 2 books, more care could have been taken to the first part and how it broke down (still with much more editing). Then the second book could have been fleshed out some more. The ending felt like Falconer said "Oh...dang...I got to wrap this up! Let's throw this last curve ball into the story, then leave it with a 'and that makes it all better' vibe...Aaaand done."

It kind of makes me sad that Falconer's editor didn't flag all this because overall the writing style and characters were well done. It really could have been a much better book.
