One can think of COVID-19 as a pandemic of the loss of the sense of smell, what if it was a another sense? Saramago wrote this story. Loved the writing and I couldn't put it down (finished it in two days). Nothing, from what we know about how people, the body or epidemics work, is realistic and it is of course quite cruel to blind people but still a damn good story.

Pretty concise and easy to finish in one day. Very useful explanation and tips regarding sketching in general and perspective in particular. At the end of the book there is a very useful list of contributing artists with their instagram profiles.

A disappointing uncritical self-help book that is full of platitudes and exoticism of Japan. A book titled Ikigai but is really a book about longevity. A long life doesn't necessarily mean a meaningful one. There is a complete chapter where the authors ask centenarians what is their secret for living beyond 100 years and the answer is the same; there is no secret. The book ends with saying that you have to find your Ikigai for yourself.
