Wanted to start reading again after a very long period of only reading tech-related things, as well as doomscrolling.

Used to enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, classical and other literature — though was reading almost only in Russian, now trying to read some things in English as well — much more choices, but quite a slower pace of reading for me, haha.

Started reading. The beginning was a bit hard for me to get through, as it is mostly “history in pictures”. At some point, I did decide to just glance over some of the more interesting things there before going to the more textual parts of the book. But the amount of work and research it did take is impressive. I feel I'll be at this book for a while.

Well, this one book took much longer to get through. Still enjoyed it, but not as well as the books before it. This one had a bit too many context switches, and in a lot of aspects more “epic”, and I don't like epics, haha.

Still, interesting to where they're going with the things, so would happy continue reading with the next book in line.

Just started reading, didn't get far enough to have any opinion, but just happy to continue the series.

Brandon Sanderson: Words of Radiance (Gollancz)

I think I liked this book less than the first one, but it was still good. My preferences are always for when the characters are on the lower power levels, so seeing things become more and more epic is not something that I'm looking towards to, but when the characters are well written it is still enjoyable.

Really enjoyed it. Quite a lot to think about — the ideas inside, the world-building, all the details and background information that you need to gather together and attempt to complete a puzzle.

Was really hard to put away at times, the pacing is quite good, and multiple points of view were masterfully ordered in a logical way.

Would need to think more about how would I rate it, and maybe write a spoilery review, but not sure I would do this. We'll see!
