I enjoy science fiction works, and some detective stories. Mostly short stories, and mostly works that have entered into the public domain. Don't have a lot of time to read which I'm hoping will change in this new year.

Overall this is a good story, should be a good quick read for anyone that reads a lot. I'll give it a 3 out 5 stars.

MIB (Men in Black) without The MIB.

Very short story, it has an ending - personally I would have liked a little more. Did the writers of MIB read this story? Read the story, see what you think, or if it's just me.

I really enjoyed this story, it's very short, easy and fun to read.

G.T. Fleming-Roberts, Allen Anderson: Hooded Detective - January 1942 (Paperback, Adventure House) No rating

Finished up listening to the last stories of the series. "Three Guess" - Three guesses, three suspects, three different version of the murder. All inter-connected. This was read well, and easy to follow story. It is a good story, with a satisfying ending.

"The Cop was a coward" - The reader seemed very happy to be reading this story, but was a very good reading. This is a good story to listen to, and very enjoyable.

Finished listening to story six, seven and eight. Number six, The Strange case of William Long, a true crime story. The reading of this story feels a bit robotics, and that made it hard to listen too. Number seven, A Dinner date with Murder. This is a short story to listen to, just under 9 mins. The reader was good, and had some voice characterization. I suspect that the characterization is more likely because of how the story writes the character with a stereotypical accent. The story is good, and probably would make a good starting point for a longer story. Story number eight, Artistic Murders Misfire. A true facts story. This talks about 18 different scientific ways to commit a murder or to cover up a murder. And why even then it's hard to get away with it. With means, motive and access still leading detectives to the guilty …

Finished the audio of story number 1, "Candidate for a Coffin", and story number 3, "Death is Deaf"

Death is Deaf is pretty good, it is a short story, coming in at just about 20 minutes. The reader uses different voices for each part, which kind of helps with keeping each part straight.

The other story, Candidate for a coffin - is also a good story, it's a bit longer. But not too bad and can be listened too in one sitting. The reading is good, plain english, and easy to understand.

Listening to six audio stories.
Candidate for a Coffin, One Hundred Bucks for a stiff, Death is Deaf, Three Guesses, The Cop was a coward, The Strange Case of William Long: A true case detective short, A Dinner Date with Murder, and Artistic Murders Misfire: A true case detective short.

Finished "One Hundred Bucks for a stiff" this afternoon, and going to start on Candidate for a coffin tomorrow. Maybe I'll be able to listen to all this tomorrow.

One Hundred Bucks for a stiff was a pretty good story, thou I have to admit it I didn't expect who the murder was, but I followed the logic, and how they came to the conclusions. I think it has some of the same problems that other detective stories (TV Shows, etc) have, The lead "detective" seems to have knowledge that the rest of the readers (viewers) don't have. …

I liked this short story more then I thought I would. But at the same time, I feel like it's not quite complete.
Where it started and where it ended and the journey in the middle, where all different, and connected. I would rate this a high 3 out of 5.
