From the first few pages I knew what the "twist" would be.... I was right, but there was a second "twist" I didn't see until almost the end of the book - granted the second twist was introduced late in the story. This is actually a really good short story thou, even if it was predictable. It almost has a original Twilight Zone feel too it, or maybe a Starship Troopers feel (if everyone was humanoid). It's not hard to spot the so called "twists", which I think makes it part of the charm of the story. It's a pretty fast read, so If you have a few free minutes, like Twilight Zone style twists - I say give this a read.

Interesting short story. I kind of get "The 13th Floor" vibes, at least at the start of the story - it does sound like the author is trying to describe virtual reality that everyone lives in. But near the end of the story, I kind of a get a anti-urban theme (or maybe I read it wrong). At any rate it's a good read, shouldn't take anyone that has 20 minutes free to read.....unfortunately that isn't me any more, I have to read in 5 to 7 minute chunks.

More machine then I expected, but very much like some of the 1950s sci-fi/horor movies, where the brain becomes more powerful once removed from the body.
