I didn't know if I had it in me to read a book about Covid, but David Quammen is such a great science writer that I decided to give it a try. He made the subject fascinating and explained very complicated issues extremely clearly.

@hackneymartian Spillover is great too. Of course, I read it before Covid, so I don't know how it would be to read it now.

@MattChambers I guess some of it is superseded, though the other pathogen groups it covers could source the next pandemic. Quammen writes on his website: "Because of those predictions, when COVID-19 began, many people asked me: How were you so prescient? I wasn’t prescient, I said. I just listened to the experts."
