Patricia Cornwell: The Last Precinct (Paperback, english language, G. P. Putnam's Sons)

Much happens, but actually nothing much at all takes place

It turns out that bigger things are going on. The plot extends back and spans several of the last books, it seems. Yet nothing much happens, for we mostly see just two long interview sessions. Still a gripping plot and a long build-up to the next book.
