A witty, engaging fantasy within a sci-fi framework. Gamers will probably enjoy this considerably more than non-gamers, and when all is said and done, there's a lot of empty calories here, but as an enjoyable diversion, this book is very good at what it does. It's funny, it's clever, it's shallow. Like the best of video games, I guess.
