finished reading All Systems Red by Martha Wells (The Murderbot Diaries, #1)

Martha Wells: All Systems Red (Hardcover, 2019, Tor.com)

I'm typically a slow reader but finished this on two different flights. It's obviously the setup for more to follow. Enjoy it for the light, scifi action adventure it is because it does this well.

I am hoping later books in the series dive into some of the deeper topics that the book seems to almost explore.

I'm not sure what to think that all of the media I've been consuming have themes of aging, youth, death, rebirth, and cancer. Too close to home.

Finally decided to read some of Doctorow's books after reading his online writings for years. Went with the oldest publish date with the books available at the local bookstore.

Benjamin Franklin, Frank Woodworth Pine: Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin (2021, Independently Published)

Historical but maybe not relevant to modern readers

Interesting to see his life from a historical perspective. A small peak into the explosion of religious sects in the colonies and his printing business. The writing style and tone are dry by today's standards and I don't feel I ever got to know how he thinks.

Review of 'DMZ' on 'Goodreads'

Great graphic novel. Some tech is dated but not so much it impacts the story. I read this during the COVID crisis while armed protesters were marching on government buildings so it was a little chilling.
