The only thing I didn't like about this book was that Norton wrote the relationship between two of the triplets in the same way she wrote their parents. I was convinced they were gonna smash by the end of this. I guess there's still time bc I'll probably read the next book lmaooo

"Don't shoot; I'm a white man."
I hate that ERB is fairly successful at writing (bad) adventure novels because his racism ruins it every time! Like, this could have just been a story about a guy finding an island lost in time, but no it is evident that ERB seriously thought Polynesians were savages jfc!!!
So it's like 1.5 stars but no this book is not "okay."

Okay I liked this book, it's alright science fantasy, heavy on the fantasy...
But god the relationship between the main characters is awful and doesn't even really matter to the story. The story isn't improved in anyway by its marginal inclusion, it's just baffling. Why why why it's so gross
