Review of 'Memory Man' on 'Goodreads'

I have two issues: first, the DVR analogy. If Amos Decker has an absolute memory recall, wouldn’t the right picture flash immediately in his mind? No rewinding and slo-mo, I would think.
Second: the motive for killing Decker’s family is a bit thin for my taste. For such a crime even a psychopath needs to develop real hatred and somehow I don’t think Decker’s loose interaction with the killer warranted the slaughter.
Ditto for the whole school massacre—symbolic, instead of killing the real perpetrators? I have hard time swallowing that.
