i would like to talk about the thoughts and emotions i had while reading these chapters but i am not good with words

this chapter is dense with imagery and it takes time to picture everything described

this chapter is talking about what the Everglades is. subsections include "the name", "the grass", "the water", "the rock", "the river of time", and "life on the rock".

I don't know when I started reading but I borrowed this on 12/30/2025 so I'm gonna put that for the starting date. I'm like two sections into the first chapter now.

this is the 70th anniversary edition of the book.

I LOVE this story! I love the main character Aventurine (as well as the other nice characters), and I love the author's writing style. The story made me feel all the right emotions. Would definitely recommend.
