Lovely story. Plenty of scope for a sequel.
But:
Punctuation inconsistent and in places definitely wrong:

p.75 delete comma from "he's, my"
p.81 "deny, that" should be "deny that,"
p.113 needs comma after other people's trees
p.127 delete comma after food bowl

p.154 needs comma in together which

p.339 lovers' tryst, not lover's tryst

p.378 needs comma after Christmas designs
