I enjoyed chapter 1 of this book but when chapter 2 rolled up I found myself facing a problem I couldn't escape for the rest of the book: I could not tell who was supposed to be who. This is a book about 4 somewhat interconnected couples and three of the four feature a broody guy with straight black hair and a friendly guy with fluffy brown hair. Good on the author for knowing what they like and writing it but I genuinely spent more time flipping back and forth trying to figure out WHO was in each scene than I spend reading. This wasn't helped by the fact that beyond the first chapter we get no context or general info about who a character is or what he does before getting thrown face first into their relationship troubles. Literally I thought chapter 2 was a continuation of the pair from chapter one until I got halfway through it like, these are not the same jobs they were doing before.
