I work in a little library in the big city. I love it here and hope to one day really get back into my backlog of books to read before George RR Martin finishes the next Game of Thrones book.

I'm a big self improvement nerd with reading tastes from Tolkien to Sanderson to GTD by David Allen to random occult titles, tarot books, and all of the graphic novels on Earth.

Ganmarei, Tyataniyou, Takeo Aoki: Monster Wrestling (Paperback, 2019, Yen Press)

Review of 'Monster Wrestling' on 'Storygraph'

I love monster girls so when this popped up on my suggested list, I just put it in my cart without question. I regret this decision.

I'll start with a complaint you'll see echoed throughout most reviews: The art style is confusing and difficult to understand. Multiple pages go by at times without me being able to understand what exactly is going on, who is moving where, etc. Apparently a character gets their arm bitten off early on. I could not tell that's what happened until the NEXT CHAPTER. For this reason alone, I recommend you not read this book.

It has more gore and violence than I expected. I don't tend to mix gore and sexy stories together and the mixture just turned me off even more. I was expecting something similar to WWE wrestling with no blood or serious injuries, just tentacle pins of big breasted monster girls …

Amahara: Interspecies Reviewers, Vol. 4 (Paperback, 2020, Yen Press)

Review of 'Interspecies Reviewers, Vol. 4' on 'Storygraph'

Starts off by expanding the universe a little more. The exposition feels a little forced but that might just be due to how long it's been since I read the third one.

Overall, this issue is pretty light on the larger plot, with just a reference to it here and there. It focuses on some fairly standard fantasy ideas, Dwarven women and furries. The chapters focusing on mimics and the adventurers' pub where you do quests for "favors" were the more interesting segments.

Each volume seems to reference different kinks to keep it fresh and this issue was bookmarked by a soft vore at the end from a much darker place on a furry farm in the beginning.
