Not a terrifying tale of unspeakable horror, but a sci-fi/fantasy story with a great balance of hope and dread that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Very pleased with the pacing, from set up to end. Recommended.

I liked this book, overall. I liked where it started, I liked where it ended, and I liked most of the stops it made along the way. But I didn't have what it takes to stay engaged through the third quarter. I'm glad I didn't quit, though.
