"What's wrong," sneered Jared. "Chicken?"

Devon remembered the chickens at granddad's farm, how they'd advanced on him, batting his legs with their wings, how he'd run away from them, clambering up a fence to get out of their reach.

He wished fervently that he WAS chicken. Or even better: rooster--domineering eye, broad chest, and razor talons.

... Maybe he could be both. He puffed out his chest, raised his arms, and advanced on Jared. "PIss off!" he snarled.

Doing master studies is making me think a lot more about what I am doing when doing these chicken sketches. The number going up also makes me feel like I don't "have" that many of these "left", I need to squeeze in all the experiments I can...

This one took me 1.5h, price is 1.5 x *your hourly wage*, DM me if you want it, A5 size (paper size, image itself a bit smaller).

gouache chicken no 61. I am rethinking my process on these, whether the 30 min time limit is still serving me or not. So this one was done without a time limit and I think came out at about 1.5h. It was a decidedly more relaxed way of working but I am not convinced it is any *better* than the 30 min ones 😂 . I'll probably keep playing around a bit with that.

Also, washi tape is absolutely wonderful for taping these!

On one rainy day, a girl from the village walked through the grain field, and discovered a small chicken which was entirely wet. She took pity on the little animal, and took it with her.

When she had brought it home, it started to vomit grain, and in this manner it spat out several sack-full of grains. This was the [above-mentioned] dragon, which was flying through the air at night and was trailing a fiery shine behind it.

I knew that #dragons could take on all sorts of forms in #folklore .

But I have to admit that I did not have "grain-spitting #chicken " on my bingo card...
