I’ve been on a Kobo Clara Colour (with Kobo Plus) for a while. And I’d love to slip a few Kindle Exclusive titles in. The whole exclusivity thing is kind of galling, from an e-reader/walled garden perspective.

Personally... If the Napster wars era of mp3’s (ending up in Spotify/Amazon Music/et al.) taught anyone anything, it is that as long as you provide a product at a reasonable price, in a conveniently accessible manner, you won’t have a piracy problem.

On the other hand, #WisdomPublications is one of the few places I know of that offers #DRMfree #ebooks by default from their online store, so if the trade is effectively less-than-ideal formatting for no #DRM, that's fine for me.

Threaded rant of the day. In early 2023 'Zon made format & DRM changes that make it difficult to impossible to transport/read purchased Kindle books on other devices. (As far as I can tell, using only Calibre & plugins for transport.) I'm no longer even going to try. They've entirely lost my patronage.
