This hurt me in a good way. Tears flowed. Not recommended for consumption on public transportation or in a café for anyone who is averse to crying in public.

Not only is the story an engaging one, the themes are immediately relevant to the situation we currently find ourselves in and again provide an excellent illustration of how #kindness and #care is not only good to have, but indispensable for our survival.

Listened to the #Booktrack edition again. Pleasantly cinematic like the first, and again like the first, a few of the soundtrack choices didn't quite mesh with the mood of the scenes they were in. Overall, though, the effect was one of augmentation rather than distraction.

Hey just a friendly reminder since folk are doing flu and covid vax rn to not forget about TDaP! Many places recommend a fresh boost if you have a tetanus exposure and its been at least five years since your last one, and it should be boosted every 10 years regardless. While people associate tetanus with rusty nails and barb wire fencing, it lives in the soil. So if you play in the dirt (looking at cavers, gardeners, outdoorsy folk in general) you may be due sooner than you think. Folk like us often have abrasions or cuts on our hands from doing things, and then shove our hands into dirt and mud. Keep that in mind! Plus it seems like every other winter there is a new whooping cough outbreak and thats the P part of TDaP so its an easy one to forget about but a good one to stay up on.

Now that you are protected, go flip some rocks! (And make sure you gently put them back!)

'Khlebnikov’s fundamental political position was that the world should have no borders. That was partly due to his upbringing: the camels and horses in the camp where he grew up were not interested in borders. Throughout his life, he remained committed to the nomadic values of the Kalmyk people.

'But, although Khlebnikov hated territorial borders, he loved the idea of borders in time. He did not want fences, customs posts and certainly not trenches (remember this is going on during World War I, when people were fighting for a few yards of squelching, blood-stained mud). But what about borders in time? When people sing together, they must all keep to the same beat and sing each note together. Synchronising the voice means being aware of borders in time. Once the whole planet is singing, the only borders will be in the dimension of time. Natural rhythms, such as human heartbeats, the sun, the moon and the tides, would be used to set up these borders. He considered it vital not to transgress borders in time - they were needed if the world’s inhabitants were to get on with one another. By contrast, borders in space were in his eyes just bloodshed and murder.'

Here in the UK, our governments ( #ToryScum and #Labour ) have turned our national asset, the #NHS and #care system, from a high quality, caring, safe service into fodder for global private equity companies, who are suckling every drop of value from us, while being supported by the British Taxpayer.

Dans un pré à côté de chez moi y'a une annesse (normande, je crois) depuis toujours, son propriétaire (un cantonnier à la retraite) n'a plus la santé adéquate pour s'en occuper donc il la donne contre bons soins. Comme tout âne, c'est mieux si elle a de la compagnie (autre âne, moutons, poules...).
