I've noticed people using "poignant" when I think they really mean "pointed" and once I noticed it, I cannot unnotice it. But maybe it's only the #TrueCrime sphere? Or have you noticed it elsewhere? #words#grammar

USPOL/True Crime - Don't talk to cops
This case is a great example of why cooperating with police backfires. They mentally tortured this dude until he confessed to killing his dad, who was/is still alive.
+ If his dog hadn't had a microchip, she would've been euthanized when the cops took her the shelter :(
Over the last decade, a single innovation has massively fueled digital black markets: cryptocurrency. Crime …
Thrilling True Crime
5 stars
Hooked from the first page, a good and thrilling read. Especially, if you are interested in true crime or cryptocurrencies.
Well written and exciting, Andy Greenberg tells the story of how investigators have managed to dismantle digital black markets and expose the crime lords behind them. (Ross Ulbricht, the criminal, who was sentenced to lifelong prison and now has been pardoned by Donald Trump, for example).
Unfortunately, the concerns that such investigative methods should raise, and the dangers posed by such surveillance tools, are somewhat neglected. I also miss recommendations for in-depth articles or books. But that doesn't detract from the reading experience.

I've asked this before but no-one really responded so I'll give it another go. Can someone recommend me a true crime podcast please? #truecrime#podcast

Yeah, when something catches my interest I can get a tad obsessed... I blame World of Books offering titles at little more than a couple of quid each, free postage and 4 for the price of 3 offers!! How can an addict resist!??! 🤪 Thinking about doing a Black Museum inspired creative project/s but still mulling over ideas ...

The collection of cases covered by Emily Webb's SUBURBAN TRUE CRIME go back to the 1940's, through to more recent times, covering a wide range of different murders and disappearances that have occurred in Australian suburban locations.

Recently finished reading Flawed Hero by Chris Masters - the story behind the case against Ben Roberts-Smith VC. This is one of two books on the recent defamation trial bought by BRS against various parties including Masters, and fellow journalist Nick McKenzie (his book on the same case is Crossing the Line).
Fans of crime fiction, raised on a diet of lone wolf PI's, limping the dark and rainy backstreets in pursuit of justice for the downtrodden, or retribution for wrongs that nobody else cares about, might find the tales in PROBLEM SOLVED a bit of a surprise.
