The American concentration camps in El Salvador are still a thing.
Gangs of violent thugs working for the fascist regime are still kidnapping people from the streets in broad daylight.

And the world has accepted this as the new normal and mostly moved on.

For all the people who wondered how the Germans allowed the holocaust to happen, and what they would have done if they had been there, here's your answer.

And then you stumble upon genocidal assholes like this.

Apparently mastodon.social will censor posts and accounts that oppose genocide but will allow incitement of violence against a peace activist delivering humanitarian aid to a starving people in the middle of a genocide (what’s a red cross on top of a person if not a call for their murder?)

Some Germans clearly haven’t quenched their thirst for genocide yet.

PS. Equating criticism of genocide with antisemitism is, itself, the greatest antisemitism as it is equivalent to stating that all Jews are pro genocide, which is, of course, false.

Vielen Dank for saving us from *that* kind of ...

PS: wasn't last! My favourite was probably Finland-disguised-as-Sweden. Estonia was entertaining too & Italy was kinda nice too. Felt bad for Iceland though. They perfectly memed the Scandinavia and the World comics and no one appreciated it!

Specifically the petition to ban conversion therapy practices is lacking enough votes from:
- (49.9%)
- (49.96%)
- (98.05%)
- (25.5%)
- (83.14%)
- (24.46%)

If you're a citizen of these countries you can help advance a ban on conversion therapy practices by voting at:

The minister of foreign affairs of the just meddled in 's security affairs in an incredibly shameless and most undesirable way. One wonders why still has diplomatic ties with these thugs.

29 Have you ever written anything that didn't age well?

Not precisely, but I _did_ write something that has aged very _uncomfortably_.

In my 2022 book "Lurkers at the Threshold", I added a travel warning for regions of Germany where the fascist had received more than 20% of the vote. Now, after the 2025 federal elections, this covers much of the country.

I am not going to take these words back, and will likely repeat them in future volumes. But it is depressing how much obviously worse my home country has become in the last few years.

Am I disturbed by these attacks on cars and dealerships? Yes.

However I must also take their context into account. And the context is this:

Yes, there are legal and less-violent ways of fighting than this. However, in the last decade or two, Western Democracies have largely failed to use them. The is the worst example, of course - but also flunked the test, as evidenced by how the authorities and political parties failed to take a strong stand againat the (including failing to start the process of outlawing them).

And if legal and less-violent actions are not taken... then sooner or later illegal and violent actions are the only ones left, especially once the fascists have already taken over (as it has happened in the USA).

And as a tactic for opposing fascism, I think …
