A totally amazing find at a yard sale yesterday - there has to be over 100 all of them for $10.00 U.S.

Each stack has at least 10 books, some stacks have more. There are 11 stacks - so at least 110.
I'd guess it's closer to 130ish. 10 Bucks!!!!

I will not need to buy any new books for a long long time.

I saw I didn't see any but that doesn't really mean anything.

Mostly I see a lot of books

Cassandra Rose Clarke: Shadows Have Offended (AudiobookFormat, 2021, Simon & Schuster Audio and Blackstone Publishing) 4 stars

The USS Enterprise has been granted the simple but unavoidable honor of ferrying key guests …

Troi and Crusher need to be on that cover!

Don't let the cover design trick you into thinking this is a Worf novel that includes a lot of Romulans. He's got things to do and I love seeing him do these things. But it should have been Troi and Crusher on that cover.

Listened to it a second time over the weekend. A great book with clear A and B stories, that are not interwoven. It's set right before "All Good Things...". I love that the two main women in the TNG crew get to be center stage here.

The story around Crusher, Riker, and Data is very cool. They face some unusual events on a new planet and it's fascinating to follow them figuring out what they are. Crusher has a very crucial role in that and that's so good to see. Love her scene with Data at the end.

The story around Troi, Worf, and Picard starts …

1. Am onto season 7 of now, the first episode. Crusher makes a fine Captain. Wish we had a series of her being one.
2. Yummy cheesy french toast with a mushroom, tomato, basil and irish cheddar filling. Savoury french toast with filling remains my default! Also managed to make enough for four breakfasts! (tfw you live alone but cook as though for a family of four 😅)
3. Listening to Andy Shauf's Norm all morning while puttering around the apartment straightening it up feels like a really good reset on my day off.

"Ode to Spot" was an ode composed by Data in 2369, addressed to his pet cat, Spot. (TNG: "Schisms")

Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature;
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion,
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

O Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

One of my friends is a Monsignor in the Catholic Church. He recently sent me this. (And yes, the meme should say "St. Augustine" who was indeed African.)
