From an "Other 98%" post on fb:

"Minneapolis isn’t ā€œrespondingā€ to ICE anymore. Minneapolis is organizing to OUTLAST ICE. After weeks of escalated federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota, the Twin Cities are doing something the rest of the country keeps saying it wants but rarely builds: an everyday, neighborhood-level infrastructure that makes state violence harder to pull off in silence.

Here’s what that infrastructure looks like on the ground: Signal chats that spread sightings in minutes, people walking around with whistles, neighbors showing up fast when someone’s being cornered, and ordinary folks choosing ā€œI’m watchingā€ as a civic identity.

In a Jacobin interview, Minneapolis organizer Aru Shiney-Ajay describes a staggering density of participation, including neighborhood chats reaching ā€œover 4 percentā€ of residents and rapid-response patrol chats that hit 1,000 people in a single neighborhood by late morning.
That matters because ICE thrives on logistics and isolation. You …

"Why isn't anyone DOING anything?!"

Probably because, in the US, causing even a minor public disturbance can be a life-ending event, landing an individual in prison with hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and a permanent criminal record.

A concise definition of : "There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

With lots of examples from (tech) corporate and MAGA conservatism. "The Flu Klux Klan wants to ban you from wearing a mask for health reasons, but they will defend to the death the right of ICE brownshirts to run around in gaiters and Oakleys as they kidnap our neighbors off the streets."

Conservatism underpins . Therefore "we should treat every attempt to pull any of these scams as an inch (or a yard, or a mile) down the road to fascist collapse."

So, the rich will pay NO taxes, and the poor will pay ALL the taxes.
In return, the poor will get NO education. NO healthcare, NO social security, NO assistance?

Also, we will have no national parks, no nature, no clean water, no ā€œcommonsā€? because the rich have taken it all to strip mine, clear cut trees, drill for oil, and pollute beyond repair?

That’s the path they are steering us towards, and they think it’s novel and are giddy that it makes perfect ideological and legal sense! And if there’s any pushback… their tough guy goons will keep order, and protect them from the consequences of their greed and lies.

Got it.

And they really think this is going to go OK for them? They really think we’re not going to burn down their mansions with them inside? That hordes of the suffering and angry …
