Having finished the book in one sitting which i assumed was because it was just so good, I have the final review from my 14 year old.
She was disappointed. She felt that the book was slow in places and that, as others have said, being written in the third person it was hard to really feel for the characters.
She was reading on and on in the hope to get to the twist in the story or the point, but she said she felt it was like lighting a firework and waiting for the exciting shower of sparks, and waiting and waiting, until finally you gave up and dropped it into a bucket of water.
She felt that the book was too predictable, partly as the uk title "Amy and Matthew, a Love Story" told you all you needed to know. It was a love story. Two people fell …

I'm sad she didn't enjoy it as much as I'd thought she would. I'm not sure if she'll try reading it again, more slowly and get more from it or if she feels that's it.
I think at 14 she wants a very plot driven book and she didn't feel this was it.
