This was a beast to get through. So many unfamiliar names and terminology kept making lose track of the plot several times. I'm hoping things pick up in the next book since I've heard good things about this series.

I just don't like this... it reminds me too much of the beginning of the Amber series I suppose. It is somewhat slow, I just didn't care for it... Tony, you were more right than I will admit...

Amazing read, couldn't put the book down. Some people say it is a copy of The Lord of the Rings, but it is actually quite different (although there are similarities). If you like fantasy, this series is a must!
