From the author of One for the Money comes the second clever comic mystery featuring irrepressible bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations. Aided by her tough bounty hunter pal, Ranger, and her funeral-happy Grandma Mazur, Stephanie's soon staggering knee-deep in corpses, trying to shake Morelli?and stirring up a very nasty enemy.
Not as funny as the first one, and while I (can) normally ignore the casual fatphobia (this fave is certainly problematic), it's really being shoved into your face here. It's less page-turning than the first, but still a relaxing read for sure!

I liked this book a lot better than the last one. Maybe it's because I had to get used to the characters, or because Stephanie Plum is gaining some talent, allbeit slowly, for being a bounty hunter. I intend to read all the books, though as with most series, i'll take breaks in between. The one thing I love is the comedy; I don't think I've ever found a series that mixes comedy and mystery so well.
