This hurts, hurts hurts to do this.

I abandoned this a while ago, when I logged onto Goodreads and saw that I started this book 77 days prior. There is no way it should've taken me that long, and I wasn't even near the end. Yes, I've been busy, but if were a better book, I would've found the time to read it.

I love the H2G2 series, and I've enjoyed several books in Colfer's Artemis Fowl series. But the two just don't mix well here; Eoin tries too hard to match Douglas Adams's style. If it is possible to do so, he does match that style technically, but the book doesn't contain the spirit of Adams's writing.

One specific criticism I have is that Colfer spent too much time trying to write the actual Hitchhiker's Guide, with too many entries and entries that were far too long. It broke …
