Trae reviewed Once upon a time in Russia by Ben Mezrich
Review of 'Once upon a time in Russia' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
Very crazy story that is completely post Soviet Russia. I was frustrated by the subtitle, it's less about THE oligarchs and more about A oligarch. This story is how Boris Berezovsky went from simple Jewish mathematician in the Soviet Union, to one of the richest men in post-perestroika Russia. The best part of the book is the side story of Putin's rise from an aid to the Saint Petersburg mayor, to being "hand selected" by Yeltsin to succeed him as president.
