Review of "Academ's Fury (Codex Alera)" on 'Goodreads'
3 stars
To play the funny comparison names, this book follows "The Roman Empire catches Pokemon" and could be titled "The Roman Empire versus Aliens"
I found this second book very anxiety-provoking. Too much happens too fast. It's kinda oppressing.
The good thing is this fast pacing makes the story not boring at all. Maybe it is because of the multiplicity of narrator viewpoints. Maybe because of the synchronicity of the stories in different places. I just founded it too crowded to enjoy it fully.
I still like the world and the characters. I'll read the next volumes. But I felt drained but the reading. I'll have to insert some lighter books in between. Maybe something by Stephen King :)
As with the first book in the serie, there are some clues and foreboding on the next parts. I won't spoil. I already did suspect some facts at the end of Furies …

Not really a spoiler: I'm mad at myself, I just guessed the birth name of the hero only now…
