I can't believe it's the same author who wrote "The Great Gatsby"! The characters are caricatures, the emotions are over the top, the language is busy and repetitive. Granted, it was written 4 years earlier than Gatsby and even when he wrote Gatsby he was still a very young man. But still, the difference is mind boggling!

I only read the short story, not the collection. I didn't even know there was a collection. I didn't even know it was a short story. Nevertheless, I read it.

The premise of this story has always interested me. Ever since I saw the trailer for the movie way back when but I never felt the urgency to read it. Now I have!

When I found out that it was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I became rather excited. Of course they made a movie out of it, Fitzgerald is so swoon worthy (writing-wise, of course). Somehow I was a bit disappointed with this book. Hype always ruin things.
