Review of 'The kite runner' on 'Storygraph'

No rating

A very good book, but incredibly depressing. Follows the story of a boy who grows up in Afghanistan before it is invaded, his travel to the US and relationship with his father, and eventual return to Afghanistan. I can't put my finger on why, but the first two thirds of the book felt like it could have been real, like someone's (auto)biography, but the last third felt more like a novel.
