He explores those forces--from the fear of losing, to the perpetual need to raise money, to the power of the media--that can stifle even the best-intentioned politician. He examines the growing economic insecurity of American families, the racial and religious tensions within the body politic, and the transnational threats--from terrorism to pandemic--that gather beyond our shores. Review of 'The Audacity of Hope' on 'Goodreads'

Barack Obama is eloquent and wonderfully engaging each time he describes interaction with people. He is also very dry when he talks about politics and views on economy, race, religion, family, etc.
Unfortunately, all those thoughts we heard repeated endlessly during his presidential campaign. It would have been a great read to get to know Barack Obama BEFORE we learned it all during his bid for the White House.
