Review of "The Magicians' Guild" on 'Goodreads'

Solid fantasy that didn't blow me away, and always felt like the good stuff would happen later, right? Lone female protagonist in a world full of dudes. It's hard to even call her protagonist because Sonea has a largely passive role. At the start of the book she finds out she has magic power and the magic guild starts looking for her, as magic power is controlled by the guild and is usually only found in noble families. Sonea however comes from the slums. From then on the hunt is on, as her friends and the Thieves Guild hide her away.

I would have enjoyed it more if Sonea had any true agency of her own. Have to think about if I want to continue the series.
