Sencillo e intrigante, está bien. Los personajes no me han caÃdo muy bien, pero es entretenido de leer.

First there were ten--a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal--and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion. (back cover)

I've never read any mysteries, so I thought I'd start with the best. Some reviews said this one was it. Of course, I'd heard of Christie.
I expected a great mystery, which this is. But I did not expect how great of a writer she was! The book bounces between the thoughts of 10 people right from the beginning. The repetition of their thoughts only helps to establish the setting. The rest of the book continues this way, bouncing between characters, revealing their fear and guilt. Each character different, yet in the same position. Artfully done.

very well written
I am so behind on bookclub, still catching up. I finished this before the main selection because I am a longterm Agatha Christie fan. I just love the style of her who-dunnits that keep you guessing until the last minute. It's not her best book, but it's full of suspense as soon as the murders begin. It could maybe have been streamlined to begin on the island, because the exposure to the ten characters of the story was a bit clunky and not that interesting.
Fast read, good book, would read again.
