After barely escaping from his last project alive, Professor Elliot Brand wanted to spend a …

Fascinating story!

I enjoyed this book and will now read the rest of the series. It's an adventure that started out a lot like Raiders of the Lost Ark, except the ancient civilization has a very sci-fi twist. It's got action and suspense and a lot of really cool science potential. It's one of those books that progresses slowly at first, then too quickly in the end. I wish it expanded into more story late, but I suspect that's why it's a series ;-)

What a fantastic story!

I have and always will be a fan of the military-scifi space opera stories. I tend to overrate these types of stories because I enjoy them immensely but I honestly liked this about as much as I enjoyed The Expanse series! The story begins very small scale and follows a young woman who is a dog trainer on a military outpost that has been cut off from Earth due to an extraterrestrial invasion. I love the way the main character was developed and grew through the story and it set the stage for an incredible series that will follow. This may be one of my new favorite authors after this story! Read it when it comes out!

Morgan Daimler: Pagan Portals - Freya (EBook, Moon Books)

Great book

This is one of the better concise books that summarize and describe the Norse Goddess Freya in terms of modern Heathenry and Paganism. It's a good read and I highly recommend it and any other book that interests you from Morgan Daimler.

T.S. Falk: Relic (EBook, 2023)

For fans of Michael Crichton, A.G. Riddle, and James Rollins.

Great scifi adventure with lots of action

I enjoy books like this and I usually rate books based on my enjoyment, even if the book could use some improvements. The story was exciting and action-packed and incorporated some really wild scifi themes into the military-type adventure. Like many action books like this though, the character development is minimal and the story is described in a way that paints the action into an image. I would have enjoyed this book more if it was a little longer with deeper backstories and science. Nevertheless, I would recommend it!

Stephen King: Insomnia (1994, Viking)

King continues to amaze and entertain

While Insomnia is a bit different than early works by King, it is written in his unique and expansive storytelling style. The book starts out with some mundane people with slowly growing insomnia, and evolves into people who can see and eventually affect reality in unique ways. The book also bridges into a bigger storyline that you will find in other early King works. I loved the tale and the way he depicted the characters and their interactions with this supernatural world they have found.a

Randolph Lalonde: Spinward Fringe Broadcast 19 (EBook, 2023, Randolph Lalonde)

The Order of Eden and Citadel continue their efforts to dominate the Rose Solar System …

Every one of Lalonde's books is an incredible drama and exciting, action-packed scifi story. However, the Spinward Fringe series is the capstone of space opera, military, and galactic political intrigue incorporating science advances that I couldn't have dreamed up in my entire lifetime. This book was a fantastic bridge into the next coming great war and possibly one for the fate of the galaxy. Incredible and captivating book! Highly Recommend, but start from the beginning! It's quite the tale.

Peter Cawdron: Ghosts (EBook, Amazon)

When an alien spacecraft four times the size of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier enters the …

Mr Cawdron has written a large series of stand-alone stories that reflect how humanity would deal with various first-contact situations and this may be my favorite. In this story, an unknown craft is headed into the solar system on a course to park near us and Earth springs into action to try and deal with this unique event. But like you would expect, humans seldom all come together to focus on a single-minded plan to greet our visitors. The story is incredible and exemplifies the challenges we will face if and when we encounter our first contact. I definitely recommend if you have any interest in the science and drama of Earth's first contact scenario.

Incredible and huge Sci-fi story! I loved the way this story line progressed from the unlikely to the insane and maybe impossible, all while playing out in an action-packed thriller. The sci-fi and science elements advanced through the story into an incredible finale that bordered on "The God Theory." One of my favorite reads as a story goes, but it might leave you a bit overwhelmed in the end if you aren't open to new ideas and theories. Enjoy!
