Venkatesh analyzes office politics through the television series "The Office". It's an interesting read. It's also a very cynical view of how one navigates through the company hierarchy. There was a lot to think about and relate to the things I've experienced in the various companies I worked. Which I like.

Obviously, there are many references to the US version of The Office, so it's helpful if you saw it. There are also many many references to other series, movies and books. Which you may want to read too.

Overall, Vankatesh did a fine job at explaining how things work. In some cases, I wish he would have expanded the explanation more, instead of pointing to another source. I think this would make a great full length book.
