@mike yeah, that's how the transitions between releases is so smooth. The mintupgrade takes care of backing up your current system, updating everything, backing up old repository lists, adding new and upgrading your system. Nothing you couldn't do by yourself, but it's just a neat little tool, that does all the things automagically. Thanks to it my in-laws' laptop hasn't been reinstalled since Mint 20, just mintupgrade with every release

@leniwcowaty I might have to look into that. I don't do any IT work for relatives, but if people are looking to migrate and need a stable system, it sounds like it could be the way to go.

@mike definitely. I've migrated half of my non-tech family to Mint, just saying that this is a new version of Windows. The amount of headache with accidentally downloaded malware, installing some weird programs and most importantly - the performance of older machines - this move has saved me... If someone needs a browser and an office suite, Mint is all they could ever need. Plus something like AnyDesk or TeamViewer for remote support and you're golden
