This is a great read. Duncan has an obvious affection for Lafayette. His life provides a useful insight into this turbulent period of history.

kcarruthers reviewed Stalin and the Scientists by Simon Ings
Excellent read - being Stalin's scientists sounds dreadful
4 stars
This is a good read and very evocative of the times. The author was clearly obsessed to write this book. It gave me a deep feeling of the horror and stupidity of life under Stalin. It is a miracle that they got anything done at all.
