2025 Reading Goal

Success! James Bond has read 15 of 12 books.

Stephen King: Langoliers (Paperback, German language, 1990, Heyne)

The Langoliers A group of travelers on a red-eye flight from California to Maine wake …

Have wanted to read this story for years now. Finally got a copy and read through. Although interesting it wasn't quite the ride I thought. I don't think I am a big fan of King's writing style although the story itself was quite good, especially the climax and resolution.

Andy Weir: Project Hail Mary (Hardcover, 2021, Ballantine Books)

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission--and if he fails, humanity …

Very good and very easy to read novel. Definitely written to be made into a film which it already is. Minor quibbles with some story decisions, mainly the set up at beginning but nothing that close to ruins the books. Very good, very competent sci fi novel. I may go and read The Martian soon now; I loved the movie.

finished reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen (Glencoe literature library)

Gary Paulsen: Hatchet (2000, Glencoe/McGraw-Hill)

After a plane crash, thirteen-year-old Brian spends fifty-four days in the Canadian wilderness, learning to …

Lots of details that I did not remember and overall a pretty good story. Middle section was definitely the best part. Very good read for middle and early high schoolers.

J. D. Salinger: Franny Y Zooey/ Franny and Zooey (Paperback, Spanish language, 2006, Alianza)

Meet Franny and her younger brother, Zooey, in two Salinger stories.

Wow! Thought I had read this one before but now I don't think that I have. This book is magnificent and a bit mysterious as well. I may have to read this one again soon with all the tiny little references and call backs. Love it!
