I read cover to cover. I do not think that is how this work should be consumed. I think it would be better to read a few passages and think about them and revisit the text on multiple visits. But this was a book I had on my to read list and decided I would knock it out now and then come back to it later in a more traditional sense.

Kelly Ana Morey: How to Read a Book (The Ginger series) (Paperback, 2005, Awa Press)

Expected more. Found myself more worried about the author's smoking habit than much else. Perhaps I had difficulty relating to the author, had hoped for writing and reading inspiration but the constant references to chick-lit lost me. I believe she mentions some fantastic titles and her novels may be better but those titles were lost among the babbling.

The great sales man of the world (1968)

It was okay, hence the two stars. I leaned toward three stars but based off the hover over description of two stars I thought that was the best choice for me. The lessons contained are good, but anyone that has not learned these life lessons before apparently were raised much different than myself. The religion tied into the story was not expected and turned me off a bit until I got to the scrolls. But again, nothing different here if you had a solid family upbringing. Not a waste of time but not the life changing book I was led to believe.

If you enjoy reading about fantastic accomplishments of elite athletes and their stories of overcoming their shortcomings or perceived shortcomings, this is a fantastic read. But I would not say I got much out of it otherwise.

Best book I read this year, inspiring me to consider writing about my own reflections during my weekly long runs. Truly does a wonderful job of showing how meditative running can be.

Not a long read, but it was too long. Would be better served without the constant repeating of topics, even if it still were 2006. There was some interesting topics but none of this is new or ground breaking for those of us who lived through it.

Morihei Ueshiba: The Art of Peace (Paperback, 2007, Shambhala)

Review of 'The Art of Peace' on 'Goodreads'

I had previously read The Art of War and after discovering this book I decided it was only right that I also read this little book. Discovered it via The Walking Dead. A wonderful short read with some very good life lessons.

Hammered through this in a couple weeks. I looked at it years ago and thought it had more meat to offer in the late chapters. Good for a beginner.
