It has been a while since I have read any of Maya Angelou's works (literally years) and unfortunately, her story has been lost to me. As I read through this, it all started to come back to me. Slowly, I remembered why I admire her so much! Utterly beautiful with words and so in touch with the realities around her. I could only wish I was half the woman she was! Her and her mother are remarkable. What a gift their lives was!
