Review of 'Augustus' on 'Goodreads'

My recollection from school of the history surrounding the establishment of Octavian as Rome's first "Emperor" was pretty spotty and afterward was soiled by the dramatic license of the HBO series "ROME". This very well done book takes all the ancient sources and puts them together in a simple to understand narrative. I recommend it to anyone who ever was curious about how the Roman Republic became the Roman Empire and the players at the heart of the transition.
